Did you Know?

The brain of an average human is almost four times as large a chimpanzee. The brain of the average dolphin is five times as large as the chimp’s.

One set of George Washington’s dentures was made from rhinoceros tusks. Washington was so embarrassed by his teeth that he actually hid payments to his dentists within the books of his Mt. Vernon plantation. Ol’ George never told a lie, but…

ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz……

Elephant Teeth

Left to its own devices, an elephant would never die.  It has no
natural enemies.  It is not prone to riding a motorcycle.  It has the
metabolic rate of granite.  So, to ensure that the world was not
eventually overrun by herds of immortal two-tonners, nature put a
time bomb in its mouth: weak teeth.  They are replaced with new ones
every ten years, but when the sixth set has worn out, that's it. Game
over for Nellie.

Human beings are different.  The enamel that coats our teeth is not
only the hardest substance in our bodies but also one of the toughest
and most resilient concoctions found anywhere on planet Earth.

What's interesting is that we CAN regenerate enamel if it's not too terribly

damaged by decay.  This is called REMINERALIZATION, and we can help it along

with fluorides, protein derivatives, super-oxygenation, diet controland xylitol sugar substitute in its many forms.

That's one of the reasons we like to catch things EARLY and use the Diagnodent and Difoti scanners to look for decay before you can see it or feel it.

Snoring  ZZZZzzzzzzzZZZZZZZ ...

Snoring and loss of breathing while asleep (sleep apnea) is reaching epidemic proportions in the US.

These symptoms can lead to VERY SERIOUS physical consequences, even death.

Biting the Barbell

Tongue piercing seems to be on the rise recently, and we’d have to say we are pleasantly surprised at the relatively low rate of problems we’ve observed so far.

When one thinks of how many blood vessels there are in the tongue, it’s amazing there haven’t been any fatalities from sever hemorrhage on placement of tongue barbells.

And rates of infection appear low.

The biggest problem has been cracked teeth. This happens when someone is happily chewing away and accidentally bites on the very hard metal of their tongue barbell.

This can shatter teeth very easily.

The tongue of the blue whale weighs more than an elephant!

Tobacco Kills

Number of deaths each year from:

Smoking 434,000
Secondhand smoke 53,000
Fires 4,000
Car Accidents 25,000
Suicide 3,100
Heroin and morphine 2,400
Cocaine and crack 3,300
Alcohol/drunk driving 105,000
AIDS 31,000

Tobacco kills more Americans each year than alcohol, cocaine, crack, heroin, suicide, car accidents, fires and AIDS combined!

Licorice Killed Napoleon

Licorice may have killed Napoleon, according to some recent reports. Evidently, in that day, licorice contained arsenic and the Little General was a candy addict.

Pet Food

Fact-80% of dogs ,70% cats show signd of oral disease by age 5 Fact-28% of cats have cavities at the gumline Fact-Gum disease can shorten a dog or cats life by up to 5 years.

We understand that manufacturers have been adding sugar to animal feeds in order to get pets to eat more.

You CAN brush your pet's teeth, but usually careful cleaning needs to be done by the vet about every year.

Stay away from using fluoride toothpastes with your pets. While it can certainly help humans fight decay, fluoride isn't good for our furry friends.

 The Infectious Smile

 Smiling is infectious,
You catch it like the flu.
When someone smiled at me today,

I started smiling too.

I passed around the corner,
and someone saw my grin.

When he smiled I realized,
I'd passed it on to him.

I    thought about that smile,
then I realized its worth.

A single smile just like mine,
could travel the earth.

So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected.

Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!
